You only need to turn the pages of a sailing magazine or view Instagram to see the riot of innovation going on up on the foredeck these days. Code Zeros, jib tops, blade jibs tacked at the stern, staysails, even experiments with quad-jibs with two clews. Suddenly, there are more leech profiles to match and more sheets to rig properly. These are the glory days for creative trimmers!
At Harken, we've seen what's going on. We've been down there on the leeward side having a look at some sails and we've been listening. The result is two new Twing blocks, one for dinghies and sports boats, plus one for offshore. Both will be easier and faster to rig and de-rig when conditions demand quick reactions. Both are designed so they can be rigged 2:1 for easier up/down adjustment under load or attached with a fixed loop to a padeye or loop spliced and run directly to a fairlead and cleat. Both are available to order.
