The iconic "Brisbane to Hamilton Island" Yacht Race is now into its 4th year, and we have some great news to share.

Last year we were honoured with the presence of first-time sailor, Wally Lewis, the 'King' of Rugby League as he helmed Andoo Comanche around the warm up course before he jumped off and onto the Start Boat to be the official race starter! He was in awe of the experience on Andoo Comanche, but this was followed by another special invitation for Wally and partner Lynda, to fly up to Hamilton Island to again join the Andoo Comanche team for Hamilton Island Race Week.

So, with sailing now Wally's latest fascination, he has agreed to be our Race Ambassador for the 2024 Brisbane to Hamilton Yacht Race, starting in Moreton Bay on Friday 2nd August. He is absolutely loving having found a new thrill and excitement to enjoy, and is completely in awe of the skill and talent it takes for yachts of all shapes and sizes to take on the elements, and this year he will be more involved in the lead up to the race start, and at the finish line in Hamilton Island when we will celebrate the end of another great event!

Race sponsors The Yacht Sales Co., Hamilton Island Enterprises, Club Marine, Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and Robert Oatley Vineyards are all very excited to have Wally Lewis on board (pardon the pun). Entries are now open and we are in conversations with several well-known yachts regarding their entries which we hope to announce shortly.
