We are hoping to revive the WLYC 24 Hour Race and want to know if your club is interested in competing. After all, who wouldn't want to be part of the UK's premier dinghy sailing endurance event?
It's anticipated this first revival of the event will be hosted by WLYC in a revised format open to GP14s and Enterprises. We'll retain all the spirit and excitement of the traditional WLYC 24 Hour Race on the water, whilst streamlining some onshore facilities. We will collaborate with the RYA and competing clubs as necessary to ensure the event can take place enjoyably and safely.
West Lancashire Yacht Club (WLYC) is inviting sailing clubs to confirm interest in participation so that the first race of the new series could be held on 21st and 22nd September 2024. It's quite short notice, so please let us know as soon as possible if you think you might be in.
Please respond by email to indicating name of club, contact person, email address and number of GP14s and/or Enterprises your club might enter in the 2024 event.
A further announcement will be made prior to the RYA Dinghy & Watersports Show on 24th & 25th February.
