Shellfish biotoxin alert for Northland and East Cape

New Zealand Food Safety has today issued two public health warnings against collecting shellfish. A warning has been issued for Northland east coast and the current warning for the Gisborne coast has been extended from Cape Kidnappers to East Cape.
Paralytic Shellfish toxins have been detected at levels above the safe limit set by MPI.
Another warning remains in place for the inner Queen Charlotte Sound, with levels of toxins still elevated in this area.
