Shellfish biotoxin alerts - East Cape region

New Zealand Food Safety is advising the public not to collect or consume shellfish gathered in the Gisborne region due to elevated paralytic shellfish toxins being detected in shellfish from Tolaga Bay.

This public health warning extends from Tatapouri Point just north of Gisborne, up to Koutunui Point in Tokamaru Bay.

Another warning remains in place for the Queen Charlotte Sound.
