by savvy navvy 7 Sep 2023 14:50 UTC

Marine technology company savvy navvy has appointed American-based Alex Ostler as its new Chief Marketing Officer, as the boating navigation app continues to scale up its growth.

Alongside its new Chief Marketing Officer, savvy navvy has also grown its engineering team appointing two new developers based in Berlin and Poland, as the leading global boating navigation app keeps investing in enhancing its features based on user feedback.

"As we enter the next phase of our business, it's the right time to build our executive team starting with the Chief Marketing Officer role with the main focus of further accelerating our growth. Now in our seventh year here at savvy navvy, we are actively shaping the marine industry for the better and challenging the bigger navigation apps in the market. Alex has a wealth of experience, has spent years at Google and has expertise in marketing for high-growth start-ups. We're super excited to have her on board," says Jelte Liebrand, CEO and Founder of savvy navvy.

Alex is based in Colorado in the USA and has spent more than two decades in marketing. Her career started in Google Maps' engineering innovating on mapping technologies followed by a track record of repeatedly scaling growth for tech startups. She joins savvy navvy's remote global team this week.

"I'm thrilled to join savvy navvy and am eager to unlock new avenues of growth across the globe with the world's savviest boaters," says Alex Ostler, CMO of savvy navvy. "The company's transformative impact on boating technology is captivating. With robust go-to-market strategies, a brilliant and diverse team, and immense potential for scaling, savvy navvy presents a golden opportunity for any marketing professional."

savvy navvy has surpassed 1,000,000 downloads across the globe and offers a revolutionary, easy-to-use app that brings everything you need for a seamless boating experience, all in one place. Built from the ground up using official hydrographic data, savvy navvy solves many on-water navigation issues for boaters, kayakers, paddleboarders and jet-skiers with a routing algorithm using wind, weather, tides, and boat settings to route users to their destination in the fastest, safest route available.

The leading boating navigation app - often referred to as 'Google maps for boats' - rolled out its new and improved V2 of the app earlier this boating season with popular new and enhanced features such as navigation mode, anchor alarm upgrade, clouds and rain overlay and wind gust features.
