St. Croix Rod is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023. We're proud of our 75 years in business and the control we command over our rod-manufacturing process - handcrafting the Best Rods on Earth® right here in North America. We're proud that we've been owned by the same family for the last 46 of those years. Most of all, though, we're grateful to you - our anglers - for the trust and confidence you've placed in us to add value to your precious time and experiences on the water.

St. Croix co-owner, Paul Schluter, shares a memory and expresses his gratitude to anglers.

"In the fall of 1977, the owners of St. Croix decided to close. As my father, Gordon, said it, he couldn't stand the thought of driving by a shuttered building. That's when he bought the company. Myself, Jeff, and Dave were off doing our own things, and one by one, we joined the effort. It was just something that came together. When we realized we had earned the right to adopt the slogan, Best Rods on Earth, I would say that was the most rewarding thing. We weren't willing to make that claim until we had proven we deserved it. We say Best Rods on Earth, but we'd love to say, best employees or best people on earth. To our people and anglers, I say thank you for bringing us to this point, this anniversary. Without our customers and anglers, we wouldn't be here. It's just that simple."
