Welcome to the May edition of The Tackle Warehouse Newsletter! The mornings are definitely getting cooler and in the words of Ned Stark, "Winter is coming" and along with it some great fishing around the country.

In this month's newsletter, we took a little time out with our newest team member Gavin Springate. Gavin has actually been with the team for a little while now, but he is a quiet achiever and managed to avoid the paparazzi up to this point.

We also have great new products from Nomad Design, Daiwa, Abu Garcia, Rapala, Yeti and Tackle Tactics.

Get your flannos, beanies and woollen stocks out of storage (or better yet come and pick up some great new gear from The Tackle Warehouse ??) and enjoy this month's newsletter!

Fishing with our newest team member Gavin Springate

This month we took a little time out with The Tackle Warehouse's newest staff Member Gavin Springate. Born and bred in Brisbane, Gavin loves nothing more than figuring out some of the toughest species to target (threadfin salmon, jew fish and snapper) throughout the Brisbane River, Moreton Bay and surrounding tributaries.

Provided he's not rostered on in the shop, and there's a run out tide, you can probably find Gavin with his eyes keenly fixed on his sounder, figuring out what he needs to do to elicit a bite from a stubborn jew fish somewhere in the Moreton Bay.

Name: Gavin Springate
Where are you from?: Brisbane born and bred
Favourite Place To Fish: Brisbane River, Moreton Bay and surrounds
Favourite Species to target: Threadfin Salmon, Jew Fish, Snapper
Favourite Technique: Soft vibes and plastics (Zerek Fishtraps, Jackall Trans Ams, Pro Lure Clone Prawn, Zman 3" Minnowz)
Personal Bests: 122cm Threadfin Salmon, 115cm Jewfish
Fishing Goal for 2023: It was a 120cm threadfin salmon but you can tick that one off now, 120cm+ jew fish and 80cm+ snapper on lure

Gavin might be a glutton for punishment choosing to chase three of the most frustratingly elusive species in the Brisbane region, but he wouldn't have it any other way. It's the challenge of figuring all of this out that appeals to Gavin and as a result, he's one of the most sought after team members in the shop.

So if you have plans to chase threadfin salmon, jewfish or snapper, drop in and ask for Gavin, he will be happy to help you out.
