New date for Gill Cat Open Meeting 2023 at Grafham Water Sailing Club

The Gill Catamaran Open at Grafham Water SC has moved from its traditional autumn slot to 15/16th July this year. This event has a reputation for being extremely sociable with highlights including an evening meal, open bar and on-site camping.

Combining exhilarating sailing with breath-taking scenery and competitive racing and a friendly atmosphere, Grafham Water SC has some of the best inland sailing in the UK.

Whether you are a seasoned sailor or a leisure racer, our event promises to be a fantastic opportunity to test your skills and compete against fellow catamaran enthusiasts. With categories for both single and double-handed catamarans, there will be something for everyone.

Last year the event attracted a good number of number of Formula 18s, assorted Nacras, A class (classics and foiling) Spitfires and Tornados. Plenty of high speed competitive racing is on offer.

But the fun doesn't stop when the racing ends. Grafham Water Sailing Club is renowned for its warm and welcoming community, and this event is no exception. With a social dinner on the Saturday and the bar open, you'll have plenty of opportunities to mingle with fellow sailors and talk a good race. The event is being sponsored by Gill Marine and a good range of prizes will be on offer.

Event entry will open in mid-June at www.grafham.org.

Camping on site is available on-site.

Grafham Water SC is based in Cambridgeshire and offers some of the best inland sailing in the country. The club is open to all classes of boat with strong fleets of Dart 15s, A-class catamarans, Lasers/ILCAs, Solos, D-Zeros, RSs and Flying Fifteens.
