On April 11, ASA organized a letter to the House Appropriations Committee calling for the committee to support the development of alternatives to 6PPD, a chemical that is used to improve tire durability, in Fiscal Year 2024 funding.

Studies show that 6PPD runoff can induce rapid mortality in coho salmon, making the use of new chemicals crucial for the species' survival.
