Inspiring anglers young and old, the Sea Angling Classic 'catch, photograph and release' fishing competition is hitting the road on a countrywide tour to promote the main event and showcase the stunning prize boat with a Yamaha V6 300hp outboard engine and the boat control system, Helm Master EX.

The Sea Angling Classic 'Let's Meet & Fish' roadshow will kick off in Wales at the Cardiff Bay Yacht Club on 12 March 2023, before venturing along the south coast and up into Scotland.

Experienced anglers and beginners alike are invited to join the Sea Angling Classic team to get a taste of what's instore at the main event which takes place in Portsmouth, 14-18 June 2023 and have a look at the winning boat and Yamaha engine combination.

"Whether someone's an avid angler or just starting out, we'd be delighted to have them join us at one of our seven road show locations," says Ross Honey, Managing Director of Angling Spirit and founder of the Sea Angling Classic.

"They can get up close and personal with the amazing Extreme 745 Game King prize boat powered by a Yamaha V6 300hp outboard with Helm Master EX functionality which will be presented to the winner of the recreational boat angling category when the competition takes place in June.

"Visitors can also meet our event partners and check out their top-notch products as well as enjoy a fun filled day out on the water before reconvening back on the shore to crown the King of the Day for the longest fish caught. It's sure to be an unforgettable day out - everyone's welcome."

The Sea Angling Classic roadshow will visit seven locations along the coast of the UK from March to May 2023:

  • 12 March - 9.00am - Cardiff Bay Yacht Club, Cardiff, Wales
  • 18 March - 8.00am - Sovereign Harbour Yacht Club, Eastbourne, East Sussex
  • 2 April - 9.00am - Weymouth Angling Centre, Weymouth, Dorset
  • 15 April - 8.00am - Lymington Yacht Haven, Lymington, Hampshire
  • 23 April - 9.00am - Pantaenius UK, Plymouth, Devon
  • 29-30 April - 9.00am - Clashwhannon Holiday Park and Restaurant, Drummore, Scotland
  • 7 May - 8.00am - Gunwharf Quays Marina, Portsmouth, Hampshire

There is no entry fee for the events, but those taking part are invited to make a donation to the sea grass planting initiative being undertaken by the Sea Angling Classic to preserve the natural beauty and health of the UKs waterways.

The Sea Angling Classic, in conjunction with its partners, aims to promote UK angling in a responsible and sustainable manner. In addition to the roadshow, the programme of events leading up to the four-day competition includes a shore clean-up programme, which is a prerequisite for entry for participants, and a family friendly crabbing competition.
