The highlight in the racing calendar each August has to be Falmouth Sailing Week. This year is planned to be bigger and better for those wanting to try out their Mirror dinghy through to IRC 1 rated yachts, competing in the premier regatta circuits in Europe.

Starting with a reception and skippers' briefing at the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at 18.00 on Saturday 6th August the week offers a range of options for entry and culminates with final prize-giving at Flushing Sailing Club on Saturday 13th August.

Full details are available on the sailing pages of the website: falmouthweek.co.uk/sailing-week including the entry forms and Notice of Race.

2022 sees the introduction of 5 class options for dinghy entrants who will race in the Carrick Fleet alongside 9 other classes from Shrimper 19 to the Falmouth Working Boat B class. Ajax 23, Sunbeams, YTC rated boats and Rustler/Piper 24 class all form part of this fleet that will race in the sheltered waters of the Carrick Roads.

On the Wednesday there will be the relatively new standalone Mainbrace Rum Race, followed by the Red Arrows performing high in the sky over Falmouth.

Out in Falmouth Bay there will be opportunities for entry in the IRC1, 2 and 3 rated yachts, YTC rated and Firebird Catamarans in the Bay Fleet. Their standalone race on the Wednesday will be the Ancasta Champagne Race. This was first raced back in 1955 and has a long standing place in the history of the port of Falmouth.

Both fleets have various options for you to enter, from single regatta days, the standalone races, 3-day series from Thursday through Sunday and of course for all seven days. We are offering an early bird discount of £50 off entry fees if you submit and pay your fees before midnight on the 15th of July. Then a £30 discount with standard entry fees until the 29th of July. Entries close on the 5th of August. Full details listed in the Notice of Race.

The unique aspect to Falmouth Sailing Week is that a different sailing and yacht club hosts the racing each day, so you'll have a different venue to head back to after each day's racing for prize-giving, regatta teas and a bevvy or two. In order of days you'll head to: Helford River Sailing Club, Mylor Yacht Club, Restronguet Sailing Club, Royal Cornwall Yacht Club, St Mawes Sailing Club and Flushing Sailing Club for the final festivities.

Over the past couple of years, we've had nearly 120 entrants across the two fleets which has also resulted in the Port of Falmouth Sailing Association being awarded the British Yachting Awards Event of the Year in 2020. We'd love you to venture south-west to get a taste of what we can offer you in some of the finest sailing waters the UK has to offer.

Shoreside arrangements organised by Falmouth Town Council are legendary with concerts, carnivals, pink wig parades and daily entertainment put on in venues throughout the whole town. Including the unforgettable displays over Falmouth Bay by the Red Arrows display team. Again, all this detail including a list of venues to stay, berth or trailer your boat to is listed on the Falmouth Week website.

We are supported by many local businesses including Ancasta Boat Sales and Mainbrace Rum. Mylor Yacht Harbour, Mylor Chandlery and Rigging, Hine Downing Solicitors, Falmouth Black Rock Gin, and the online Flip Flop Shop also contribute significantly to the running of this weeklong regatta.

The Race Office contact details are and on 07555 574308 should you have any queries not answerable on the website.
