Leading Australian refit and repair provider, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard (GCCM), has been announced as a world finalist in the 2022 ACREW Superyacht Business Awards. The global award finalists were announced late last week, with GCCM in strong contention for The Best Refit Yard Award for the third consecutive year.

In the ultimate endorsement, these international awards acknowledge and celebrate the best refit and repair businesses in the world, as voted by a network of over 15,000 Captain and Crew Members. Nominations for the highly coveted awards come from leading Superyacht Captains from around the world who put forward businesses they believe deserve global recognition, for being the best in their field. Refit yards are judged on their knowledge, customer service, safety procedures and their specialist efforts to achieve efficient and high-quality outcomes for owners and Captains. All nominees for the award are then passed through a panel of senior industry representatives prior to being accepted and recognized as Finalists. GCCM is one of only five Finalists in the refit class worldwide for 2022.

The prominent South Pacific Shipyard has won much praise and global recognition over the last 18 months having completed three of the largest on-water yacht paint and refit projects ever undertaken in Australian waters. These ground-breaking projects saw the full hull and superstructure repaints on M/Y Dragonfly (74 metres SilverYacht), M/Y SuRi (63 metres Custom Explorer Yacht) and M/Y Lady Christine (67 Metre Feadship), with all works completed in the dedicated Superyacht work basin of the 43-acre facility on Queensland's spectacular Gold Coast.

GCCM stands proudly as the most awarded refit and repair facility in the Pacific region and the 850+ strong team of marine trades based onsite have continued to demonstrate their commitment to continual and sustainable improvement and innovation over the last 22 years for the benefit of the entire Asia Pacific marine industry.
