Western Australia government study supports efficacy of new fishing deterrents

Sharkbanz, makers of the world's first wearable shark-deterrent technology and shark-deterrent terminal fishing tackle, is proud to announce that a recently completed WA Government study has shown the Sharkbanz Fishing Zeppelin reduces shark depredation on fish anglers hook, allows anglers to land a greater proportion of hooked fish, and invokes avoidance behaviors when sharks approach hooked fish.

"We're thrilled to add this independent third-party testing and validation by the Western Australia government to our ever-growing library of videos, testimonials and studies supporting Sharkbanz' science, technology, and performance," said Nathan Garrison, co-founder of Sharkbanz. "It's more confirmation of what we already know: the products work." The Sharkbanz Fishing Zeppelin, endorsed and used by Paul Worsteling, the famed host of IFISH TV, is readily available at Tackle World locations throughout the AU and is capable of thwarting the ocean's Taxman, especially in bottom fishing applications.

The result of over a decade's worth of research in Australia, the USA, The Bahamas, and South Africa, the groundbreaking magnetic technology used in both the Sharkbanz 2 wearable band and Sharkbanz Fishing Zeppelin overwhelms a shark's electroreception, creating an unpleasant but harmless sensation that stops the ocean's most efficient predator in its tracks. In the case of the Fishing Zeppelin, that equates to fewer hooked fish being poached. Some users are reporting over a 90% success rate when using the six-ounce, streamlined Sharkbanz Fishing Zeppelin rigged as a sinker or attached to the line via a carbineer clip immediately after setting the hook.

Check out these WA Government (DPIRD) underwater video clips of the Sharkbanz Zeppelin in action during independent testing of shark-deterrent fishing devices conducted in 2020 and 2021. Watch as the Sharkbanz Zeppelin turns away toothy predators time and again. Whether you are an angler simply looking to bring home some fillets for dinner, or a diver, snorkeler, swimmer or watersports enthusiast in need of personal shark protection, Sharkbanz is the answer.

With retail pricing at $75 USD/$104.95 AUD, the Sharkbanz Fishing Zeppelin is in stock and available both online and in a growing number of fishing, boating, and outdoors stores.
