2021 is coming to an end and hopefully we say goodbye to the worst of Covid. So what is planned for 2022?
There are many things for us to all be positive about from 2021, but the cancellation of the Worlds in Bermuda and most of the other international events isn't one of them. Hopefully the worst of Covid is behind us and 2022 will be much more successful from a sailboat racing perspective.
International Events
So what is racing in 2022 looking like for the 5o5 Class internationally. Details of International events and the Open National Championships scheduled for 2022 can be reviewed on the Class website at International Fixtures.
The flagship event will be the World Championship to be held in Cork from 3rd to 13th August 2022.
The annual Euro Cup series will take place in France, Italy, Germany and for the first time this year in Spain. The French leg has been moved to the lovely town of San Raphael and the German leg moved to the quaint Baltic town of Warnemunde.
Other News
There will be a very special and unique event for the 505 Class in 2022. After several years of research and effort, the 5O5 Book will be launched. This is going to be a fantastic 'must have' book about the nearly 70 years of history and story of the 5O5 over the ages. Keep an eye for more news and information as promotion of the launch steps up in coming weeks.
