Bayliss Boatworks delivers Old Reliable 72'

by Bayliss Boatworks 2 Sep 2021 18:54 UTC

Bayliss Boatworks is proud to announce the delivery of Old Reliable, a 72' custom sport fishing yacht. Her christening took place on August 6th, in a gathering with friends and family.

Nick Smith, offshore fly fishing legend and previous owner of Bayliss Hull 5, is the proud owner of Old Reliable. Smith had a successful run with Hull 5, but his fishing program had grown to the point where he needed a bigger platform.

"When it came time to build a larger boat I naturally chose Bayliss Boatworks for the next 'Old Reliable'. What a great crew they have put together. I'm a particular guy and so is John. Hull 25 speaks to that drive for perfection. She is now finished and is spectacular. Everything I expected: ahead of schedule and on budget. Can't wait to fish her," says Smith.

Construction on the project began in July of 2019 and endured a global pandemic along with the multitude of challenges that came with it. Our team faced these issues head on and was still able to deliver Old Reliable two months ahead of schedule.
