A unique rod series designed for apex saltwater fly anglers, the new G. Loomis NRX+ T2S boasts an unparalleled fusion of materials, technology, and innovative design features that unite to elevate angler performance under the most challenging conditions.

These are the rods that G. Loomis Elite Ambassadors Brandon and Jared Cyr rely on to connect anglers with tarpon, permit, and bonefish in the crystal clear flats off the Florida Keys. Now, these experienced guides reflect on the benefits that the NRX+ T2S - winner of the Best in Category: Fly Fishing Rod award in the New Product Showcase at ICAST 2021 - delivers to them and their clients on every trip.

"In the Keys, our fishing is so intense. It's such a difficult fishery." reflects Jared Cyr. "When it comes to rods, we need the best of the best. It all comes down to taking any advantage we can get to throw faster, cast better, and make more accurate shots. The right gear can make that happen. The NRX+ T2S is the best tool I've ever had in my boat for what we do. This rod is a true game-changer in this demanding environment."

"This week, I was giving a client new to saltwater fly fishing a rundown of everything that has to go right to hook a permit," remarks Brandon Cyr. "Wind direction, wind speed, sunlight, water depth, the sink rate of the fly, playing the current, how fast the fish is moving...the list is endless. Thankfully, the one variable I don't have to worry about anymore is rod performance. Whether we're getting shots at 30 or 70 feet, I know we have the best possible tool for any situation: the new NRX+ T2S."

The award-winning G. Loomis NRX+ T2S is rolled with Dynamic Recovery Technology, a blend of several premium technologies that unite to create an action with exceptional performance characteristics. Exclusive Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin, combined with the industry's most advanced compound taper construction process, creates a crisp action with smooth, rapid recovery. The key to achieving this is a reimagining of G. Loomis' proprietary Multi-Taper Design technology to yield lightness, strength, and action.

Brandon Cyr recalls, "the wind was blowing at 25 mph on the day when we first got our hands on the NRX+ T2S. Jared and I had that day off, so we lined the rods up and took them to the park. I remember thinking, 'let's see what the rod's got,' so I turned around and jammed a cast directly into the wind. I was blown away by the rod's unsurpassed ability to power a cast right into the teeth of a stiff, gusty wind. I've never seen anything like it."

"In addition to the wind, we constantly have to deal with clouds and poor light conditions in the Keys," continues Jared Cyr. "When the clouds roll in, the shots we would normally get at 40 to 50 feet are happening within 15 to 25 feet from the boat - and they happen incredibly fast. For consistent success, anglers need a rod that can load up quickly and cast the fly accurately for those short shots - and the NRX+ T2S does exactly that."

Each NRX+ T2S rod measures 8'10" and has a unique two-piece configuration that offers one-piece performance with the convenience of compact transportability. In each rod, the tip section measures 86 ¾" while the butt section is 22" long. Refinements along the length of each blank - from the hybrid guide trains, to the full wells cork grips, to the custom aluminum reel seat - enhance both rod and angler performance. A functional aesthetic with a glare-cutting, matte-black finish boosts boat-side eats from wary targets. The NRX+ T2S series includes five rods with line ratings of 8-weight to 12-weight to maximize its versatility across the spectrum of saltwater targets. G. Loomis handcrafts each NRX+ T2S rod in Woodland, Washington.

"At G. Loomis, our identity consists of three equal parts: technology, innovation, and design," asserts Red Kulper, Fly Fishing Brand Manager at G. Loomis. "The new NRX+ T2S is tangible proof of our commitment to push rod building forward in these areas. We couldn't be more pleased to receive the Best in Category award for new fly rods at ICAST 2021. It's a true honor!"

The award-winning NRX+ T2S provides power, finesse, and sensitivity over the broadest range of casting distances and styles. These ultra-versatile tools are designed from the ground up to crush variables and maximize angler performance on the water. The NRX+ T2S will be available in late July with an MSRP of $895.
