Like a lot of local Clubs, Covid-19 has curtailed many Wimbleball Sailing Club activities during the first part of 2020. However, with the lifting of Government restrictions and a strict safety policy the Wimbleball Sailing Club was able to partially open its doors again to Members during June.
Each year the club runs training courses for children and adults wanting to get a taste for the enjoyment that sailing offers.
This year, whilst a number of these courses have had to be cancelled the Club has, applying strict safety measures, been able to run the popular Wimbleball Osprey courses for 8 to 18 year olds during July and August. The series of 5 day courses follow the Royal Yachting Association's (RYA) stages for learning to sail and whilst being safe, instructional and informative they are also great fun for the children.
Participants don't need any prior experience of sailing and will receive both practical and theory instruction with close supervision to build their confidence and sailing skills.
The 2021 booking season will open in January 2021 so keep an eye on the Clubs website www.wimbleballsc.org.uk to find out more.
