Snagging a line on a cleat while docking could have serious consequences, as can stubbing a toe and falling overboard. Both are easily avoided with Accon Marine's 202 Series of innovative Flush Mounted Pop-Up® Cleats. At the touch of a button, they raise to provide all the holding power of a standard cleat then retract back flush into the deck or gunwale for a clean, uncluttered appearance.
A 202 Series Pop-Up Cleat is available for virtually any size boat. They're offered in 114mm, 152mm, 203mm and 254mm models and accommodate line ranging from 13mm to 25mm in diameter. They have a minimal height for use in a wide range of locations. Made from gleaming, marine-grade 316 stainless steel, they're practically maintenance-free and simple to install. They have a lifetime warranty.
Each 202 Series Pop-Up Cleat comes with a robust stainless steel backing plate that serves as a template. Installation requires a small cutout and four 5mm holes. The 114mm model is through-bolted with screws, while the 152mm, 203mm and 254mm sizes can be ordered as either through-bolt or hidden stud mount. Backing cups with a threaded nipple are available for locations that need to drain into the bilge. A video is at bit.ly/popupcleat.
