I would like to start this month's newsletter out with a giant THANK YOU to all of those who came to the Miami International Boat Show last month. Being able to catch up with everyone was fantastic and I am happy to report that we had an amazing turnout.
It costs us well over the quarter million-dollar mark to display at this show which means we need the support of new sales to justify such a big spend in order to be there. You all showed us once again it was worth it. From all of us at Intrepid, WE THANK YOU!
We were planning on debuting our new 409 Valor at the Palm Beach Boat Show but, with the show now being postponed, we have come up with a "plan B" that I hope everyone will enjoy.
By the time you read this, the new 409 Valor will be at our Dania Sales office and we invite you to call our office at 954-922-7544 and schedule a private showing. With everything that is going on with COVID-19 we promise to make your safety our number one goal.
We take this very seriously and we are taking all of the necessary precautions to keep you safe and still be able to see our newest creation, the 409 Valor. It really has turned out beautiful and we cannot wait for you to see it for yourself in person!
I will also tell you that I would be lying if I said that what is happening with the COVID-19 virus did not have my Intrepid Team a little concerned right now. With everything the press is reporting, I think it is enough to scare anyone and we do not take this lightly.
Our 340 employees also look to me to provide them with assurance that we will be okay and that we will get through this. We all preach to each other every day that nobody needs what we build and that is why we need to be the best. We need to build the best boats and give better customer service than anyone else in order to create a demand for something that nobody needs.
Then when something like this happens, the Intrepid Team remembers now more than ever that nobody needs our boats and everyone worries about their future because this is how all of us feed our families. I will tell you what I have told all of them.
Intrepid has been through the luxury tax that completely destroyed new boat sales, bird flu, MERS, SARS, EBOLA, HIV, hurricanes that have completely shut down our supply chain, and even a tsunami in Japan that completely halted all Yamaha engines from coming over which was about half of our boat orders at that time, and then the biggest recession since the great depression... and we made it through.
The only reason we were able to make it though is because of you. Our Intrepid family of customers who even in down times stayed with us and ordered boats when nobody was buying boats. You are the ones that have seen us through all of the dark times with your loyalty to the brand and it has kept us in business allowing us to continue to support you with top shelf customer service and continued innovation of new boats and new designs.
And this difficult time too shall pass and we will come out on the other side with your continued support. With that, let me thank you again for always being there for us and allowing us to continue doing what we love to do... build you kick ass boats!
If there was ever a time to be a boater, it is now. With the importance of social distancing to keep you and your family safe, boating still allows you to spend time with your family in a safe environment where you can still get out and enjoy the outside. We are seeing that more people now than ever are using their boats and we hope you are all able to do so as well.
Please know that we are taking every precaution to keep everyone here at Intrepid safe so we can continue to serve you the way that you are accustomed to and I hope that you get the opportunity to come to the Dania Sales office to see our new baby... the new 409 Valor!
Be safe and we'll see you on the water!
