Hurricane reinvigorates storied brand with redesigned 2020 lineup

by Molly Lenaburg 14 Feb 2020 05:07 UTC February 13-17, 2020

Hurricane, legendary innovator in versatile deck boat designs, announced today it has added four newly designed and completely modernized hulls to its 2020 model year lineup. The newest models, the SunDeck Sport 185 Outboard, SportDeck 190 Outboard, SunDeck Sport 205 Outboard, and SunDeck 235 Outboard, will be on display at the Miami International Boat Show.

"With a rich heritage, the Hurricane brand has been delivering affordable, versatile and rugged deckboats for decades," said Chuck Hutchison, product manager, Hurricane Boats. "For 2020 and beyond we have invested heavily into the future of Hurricane and its products. We completely redesigned our line and developed all new molds for the latest in modern, elegant and ergonomic deckboats. We are very excited to show our loyal customers the face of the new Hurricane Boats."

The SunDeck Sport 185 Outboard is designed to perform with a 90HP engine. The hull is streamlined for better performance, while the multi-position helm-back seat, integrated swim platform - generous for the size of boat - a motorwell step-across stern for easy entrance and simple and ergonomic helm design, is the ideal value for the price-conscious boater.

Bringing Hurricane into the sport bowrider product segment, the SportDeck 190 Outboard is ideal for those enjoying boating on larger lakes, while providing comfortable seating for up to eight people. Its 21-degree deadrise - one of the steepest in the industry - and wider bow design allows additional capacity in the bow and the deep cockpit creates a safer and more comfortable ride.

The newest design in the Hurricane lineup, the SunDeck Sport 205 Outboard, which will go into full production in March is a slightly larger version of the 185. It is designed to operate with a power range from 115 to 150HP for a little more speed. It is designed primarily to give boaters the thrilling sense of adventure, while maximizing the versatility of the vessel in any situation.

The SunDeck 235 Outboard is made for boaters looking for a little more power. While sporting many of the proven features of some of the smaller SunDeck vessels, the 235 incorporates a multi-position flipback helm chair and flipback co-captain helm chair, protected by a full wrap around windshield for protection from the elements. The spacious design and walk-through windshield are complemented perfectly by the well thought out bow anchor storage and bow and stern ladder access.

All SunDeck, SunDeck Sport and SportDeck models are available through Hurricane's network of dealers. For more information on Hurricane or its full lineup of versatile deckboats, please visit www.hurricaneboats.com.
