Boaters, anglers and Phillip Island residents will have the opportunity to view plans and have their say on the Andrews Labor Government's upgrade to the Rhyll boating facility on Friday 22 November.

Member for Bass Jordan Crugnale said the event will allow the community to see concept designs and provide feedback that will progress the soon to be improved facility at Rhyll.

The concept design aims to deliver a safer boating facility that will provide a better launching experience, increased berthing spaces, a better fish cleaning facility, improved pedestrian safety, improved parking and traffic flow.

With a BBQ, fishing and boating education display and a live flare demonstration, this event gives the whole family a chance to learn and have a voice in making boating better on Phillip Island.

An online consultation will also run from Friday 22 November until Friday 29 November to allow people who cannot attend this event to provide feedback. Website live from Nov 22: getinvolved.transport.vic.gov.au.

This upgrade is part of the Labor Government's $47.2 million plan to boost boating in Victoria by removing fees at all public boat ramps, upgrading six priority boats ramps and reviewing boating infrastructure management arrangements in Port Phillip and Western Port.

The Rhyll boating facility was selected as a priority location for upgrade based on advice from various stakeholders including the boating and angling community.

Better Boating Victoria (BBV) is overseeing the delivery of the government's boating commitments.

The community drop-in event is being held at the Rhyll boat ramp from 4pm - 7pm.
