by Andrew Golden 8 Aug 2019 13:02 UTC

United States Power Squadrons® - America's Boating Club® announced that it has launched its dedicated educational facilities - the America's Boating Club Learning Centers. The first Learning Center will be located at the Fisherman's Cove Resort in Tavares, Florida, with additional locations to be announced in the coming months. The initial schedule of hands-on boating courses will include classes every Saturday and Sunday. Classes will be expanded to mid-week to match demand.

The Learning Centers courses build confidence at the helm while students are under the supervision of certified instructors. Participants develop and elevate safe boat handling skills and techniques through classroom sessions and professional on-the-water training. Each session is tailored to provide personal coaching for every student. Classes are suitable for beginners and advanced boaters.

"For more than 100 years, America's Boating Club has been striving to find new ways to spread safe and enjoyable boating techniques for the benefit of the entire community, like through our new Learning Centers," said Gary Cheney, chief commander, United States Power Squadrons. "Since we are a non-profit, our courses are affordable and by setting up our Learning Centers in key locations across the country, we are making it easier for people to get hands-on, high-quality training and gain valuable experience. Whether you visit a Learning Center or join one of our local Squadrons, we encourage every boater to never stop learning."
