You always know it's been a great event when people are still talking about it
days and weeks afterwards, and it's clear this is what is happening after the
2019 Europe Nationals. 30 boats competed.
The class has seen record traffic via its Facebook page and website, and there
is yet more interest in second-hand boats - so much so that we don't have
enough to meet the demand. We've got over 400 pictures and video clips from
the weekend keeping everyone amused, and our thanks go to Bernard Clark and
Will Loy for their work behind the lens at the event.
New sails are being ordered - we are incredibly grateful to UK Sails for their
sponsorship of a sail as a prize at the Nationals and we know the winner is
delighted with the prospect of having some new crinkly cloth to use. Alejandro
had lots of his sails out on the water at the event and 3 lucky winners are now
able to order sails from him with a great discount - not surprisingly some of
the winners are looking with interest at the 'Stormy' sail, specifically cut
for light helms and heavy weather.
There's talk about the relative merits of carbon versus tin masts and debate about
sourcing new ones. There's a team getting ready to head 'over the water' to
take part in the Belgian Nationals in early September with at least 5 boats
already committed to going and finally everyone is asking "where and when next
year?" - a sure sign that 2019's event was a rip-roaring success!
Why not join in the buzz and come Europe sailing?
