Have you ever cruised on the wild West Coast of Vancouver Island? Join the very experienced Peter and Carla Vassilopoulos as they take us with them to some of their favourite anchorages and recommended passages, waterways and places of interest on the west coast of our Island.

They've been very active in the boating community for many years—Peter is well known for his many articles in Pacific Yachting reviewing new power boats coming onto the market. After he took up scuba diving, he founded DIVER magazine in 1974 and continued to explore many areas of BC as well as international destinations while cruising and diving. He went on to publish six Cruising Guides for the Pacific Northwest, has helped friends publish books mostly concerned with the sea or cruising, has written a novel, and continues to educate and inform people about his favourite places on the salty waters of British Columbia.

Almost all of Peter and Carla's coastal travels have been in power boats; they've owned a 34 foot trawler followed by two Monaro power boats, the latest of which is a Monaro 27. This is a fast, comfortable boat enabling wide coverage of an area for better first-hand knowledge of the waterways, anchorages and marinas.

Few boaters have seen so much of our waters and have made such great efforts to encourage others to get out cruising whether under power or sail. Peter's presentation will prove to be a very interesting and informative guide, especially for those who haven't yet taken up the challenge to go 'offshore' of the Island!
