Operating a boat isn't difficult, but to do so safely and with confidence takes a modicum of knowledge. With Quick Reference Cards from Davis Instruments, it's easy to learn everything from the basics to a specialized field of seamanship. Davis offers six double-sided, full-color Quick Reference Cards. Each is loaded with information that's been distilled-down into graphic summaries and easy-to-read text. Coastwise Piloting #126 contains the crucial information needed to find one's way when on the water. It teaches dead reckoning basics, using a compass, how to use a chart and much more.

Celestial Navigation #132 simplifies the use of a sextant. It explains correction tables, and has step-by-step sight reduction and plotting procedures, and an 18-star finder.

Weather Forecasting #131 has information every boater needs. It details how to use wind direction, barometric pressure and cloud type to predict the weather. It includes official weather radio listings, how to navigate in fog and what all those weather symbols mean and why they're important to know.
