Charles Page High School wins TBF/FLW High School Fishing Oklahoma State Championship on Fort Gibson

The Charles Page High School duo of Mack Taylor and Reese David, both of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, brought a five-bass limit to the scale Sunday weighing 19.42 pounds to win the 2018 TBF/FLW High School Fishing Oklahoma State Championship on Fort Gibson Lake.

A field of 61 teams competed in the no-entry fee tournament, which launched from Paradise Cove Marina in Wagoner. In FLW/TBF High School Fishing competition, the top 10-percent of teams competing advance to the High School Fishing National Championship.

The top six teams on Fort Gibson that qualified for the 2018 High School Fishing National Championship were:

1st: Charles Page High School, Sand Springs, Okla. – Mack Taylor and Reese David, both of Sand Springs, Okla., five bass, 19.42 pounds
2nd: Wagoner High School, Wagoner, Okla. – Tate Brumnett and Alex Hornbuckle, both of Wagoner, Okla., five bass, 18.44 pounds
3rd: Eufaula High School, Eufaula, Okla. – Kole Poindexter and Larry Rea Jr., both of Eufaula, Okla., five bass, 17.84 pounds
4th: Sallisaw High School, Sallisaw, Okla. – Cameron Dahlem, Gans, Okla., and Kolby Frazier, Sallisaw, Okla., five bass, 17.81 pounds
5th: Keifer High School, Keifer, Okla. – Jeremy Tolle, Bixby, Okla., and Garrett Hale, Kiefer, Okla., five bass, 17.39 pounds
6th: Grove High School, Grove, Okla. – Caden Sharp and Gage Hill, both of Grove, Okla., five bass, 16.81 pounds

Rounding out the top 10:

7th: Broken Arrow High School, Broken Arrow, Okla. – Mason Mitchell and Cody Hays, both of Broken Arrow, Okla., five bass, 16.54 pounds
8th: Wagoner High School, Wagoner, Okla. – Shea Hornbuckle and Gauge Merz, both of Wagoner, Okla., five bass, 16.42 pounds
9th: Spiro High School, Spiro, Okla. – Sawyer Reib and Gunner West, five bass, 14.94 pounds
10th: Mannford High School, Mannford, Okla. – Charley Williams, Mannford, Okla., and Garrett McCrackin, Jennings, Okla., five bass, 14.37 pounds

The 2018 TBF/FLW High School Fishing Oklahoma State Championship was a two-person (team) event for students in grades 7-12, open to any Student Angler Federation (SAF) affiliated high school club in the United States. The top 10 percent of each Challenge, Open, and state championship field will advance to the High School Fishing National Championship on Pickwick Lake, in Florence, Alabama, June 26-29. The High School Fishing national champions will each receive a $5,000 college scholarship to the school of their choice.

In addition to the High School Fishing National Championship, all High School Fishing anglers nationwide automatically qualify for the world's largest high school bass tournament, the 2018 High School Fishing World Finals, held in conjunction with the National Championship on Pickwick Lake. At the 2017 World Finals more than $60,000 in scholarships and prizes were awarded.
