Sailor Girl interviews coach Darren Bundock at the Sailing World Cup Final © Nic Douglass / www.AdventuresofaSailorGirl.com

I took the opportunity today on the first official day of racing at the Sailing World Cup Final in Melbourne to talk to two coaches about how they are preparing their sailors.

Geoff Woolley, the coach of dual gold medallists Liesl Tesch and Dan Fitzgibbon in the Skud18, is now coaching the 470 Women on the Australian Sailing Squad, and Darren Bundock, dual Olympic silver medallist, recently transitioned from sailing himself to become coach for the Nacra 17 Australian Sailing Squad.

Enjoy the action from two very different, but both successful coaches here at the Sailing World Cup in Melbourne.

Middo: Race Officer, Umpire, well-known sailor in the land "Downunder" was my media boat driver today. Well over-qualified to drive me around, but fantastic company as always. So just why does Middo volunteer for Sailing World Cup Melbourne in his time off? Listen in to our chat out on the beautiful waters of Port Phillip Bay...

Future stars

Awesome to be on the ground for the Sailing World Cup Final in Melbourne, the final for World Sailing's World Cup this year!

170 entrants, plenty of rock stars, but also plenty of rock stars in the making, such as Finn, Elkan and Anna who I caught up with today.

Optimist sailor Adelaide Pullin from Queensland is missing her primary school graduation to be at Sailing World Cup Melbourne for the Optimist Girls Camp and racing. So, we organised a little surprise for her. Mat Belcher, double Olympic medallist in the 470 dropped past to present Adelaide with her graduation certificate. Just awesome! This is what sailing is all about!
