The finale of next week's 52 World Championship, the fourth event of the 2016 52 SUPER SERIES will be streamed live from the race courses set off Mahón, Menorca.

Successful, well received testing during the last event of 2015 in Cascais, Portugal proved conclusively that there is an appetite for live racing coverage supported by informed comment. Now the 52 SUPER SERIES is extending that progression to allow race fans from all around the world to follow the climax of this year's 52 World Championship, race by race and tack by tack.

Germany-based RealTV, who have been responsible for all video production of the 52 SUPER SERIES since 2013, will deliver the live streaming from the race course, supported by live pre- and post-racing analysis from the 52 SUPER SERIES studio. The audience in Cascais was phenomenal, amassing nearly one million views in total.

Racing will be broadcast live on Friday 16th, Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th starting from fifteen minutes before the first scheduled start each day. The live action stream will be complemented by real time 3-D tracking by 52 SUPER SERIES' long time supported Virtual Eye.

Lars Böcking, Marketing Director of the 52 SUPER SERIES, reveals, "We are very excited to be able to move forward once again and deliver Live TV for this key event of the TP52 season. In essence Cascais last year was a bit of a trial, to see how we could do it – because we do have relatively modest resources – and also what the interest really is. Back then we were pleasantly surprised by the size and interest of the audience and so now we are taking the next steps, and offering Live TV in Mahón."

Agustín Zulueta, CEO of the 52 SUPER SERIES, adds, "This is an important step forward for the 52 SUPER SERIES and the class, with an investment by Jacaranda Marketing and RealTV Group to provide Live TV streaming from the showcase event of the season, the 2016 52 World Championship, as we seek to further engage and expand our global audience going forward to a full 2017 season when of course the 52 SUPER SERIES will span constituent regattas in the USA and Europe."

The fleet for the 52 World Championship is assembling now in Mahón, Menorca for the first time ever. All three of the most recent world championship title winning teams will compete. Defending title holders, Azzurra, are looking to halt the substantial winning momentum of Quantum Racing – who lead the current 52 SUPER SERIES season with regatta wins in Scarlino, Sardinia and Puerto Portals. Niklas Zennström's 2013 world title winning Rán Racing are on form and have been one of the fastest boats on the water this season. Paul Cayard re-joins the TP52 class in Menorca as skipper of Phoenix.

The 52 World Championship will take place in Mahón, Menorca from 14th-18th September. Racing starts at 13:00 CEST every day, with live coverage on the final three days. You can catch all the action on the website or via the app.
