Five visiting Enterprise entered the Deben Open on a bright sunny day with a moderate north wind. The wind direction gave the race officer a difficult decision as to where to take the racing. After some deliberation it was decided to take the racing to a wider part, down river, towards Felixstowe. As all the days racing would be back to back it meant that the boats would return on the high tide.

Race 1 got under way with Brian and Linda Cummings reaching the windward mark first, followed in close pursuit by Kevin Bilham crewed by Jamie Cammann and the rest of the fleet. On two downwind legs Kevin managed to overhaul Brian who was just a head of Keith and Katie Tyler. On the next beat Kevin went up the wrong side, which allowed Brian though with Keith on Kevin's heal, After the next beat Brian and Kevin were clear with Keith and, Adrian and Caroline Savage, battling out for 3rd place.

Race 2. Kevin had a flying start with Brian and the rest of the fleet in close pursuit. On his route to the windward mark Kevin was taken about by a pleasure boat, which allowed Brian and Keith though. On the next lap, Kevin managed to get back into 2nd, leaving Brian with two firsts.

Race 3 was to be race along the river, finishing at the club line. Brian again got into the lead with Kevin 2nd, Keith 3rd, Adrian 4th and, Simon Strode and Richard Andrews, in 5th. The places did not change though out the race, which gave Brian and Linda a clean sweep for the event.
